
Day 1 Departure to Barcelona - Narbonne - Avignon Gathering and flight to Barcelona. Arrival and departure to Narbonne. We ‘ll have the chance to visit the 13th century cathedral of St-Juste in Narbonne with the impressive statues and the stained glass. Then, after the tour in the important for the Roman Empire port of the city, we will dine at one of the famous restaurants (optional). Departure for Avignon and settlement in our hotel. Overnight.
Day 2 in Avignon Breakfast at hotel. We ‘ll start our tour in the beautiful city of Avignon. Built in a castle on the left bank of the Rhone River, was mainly known as the base of Catholic popes for the period 1309-1377. Avignon still keeps the glory of past greatness. We will walk the narrow streets where we will have the chance to come across some of her most famous sights. The ruined bridge Pts Saint Beneze, which is the hallmark of the city and was destroyed during the 17th century when the waters of the Rhone River pulled down most of it, together with the Papal Palace, which began to be build in 1334 and overlooks the majestic top of the city with a magnificent view over the river and is the largest Gothic palace in Europe, the Petit Palais where you will have the opportunity to admire the excellent paintings and beautiful sculptures. Among them the famous painting by Botticelli "The Madonna and Child" and Angkalnton Museum, where you can admire creations of Picasso, Cezanne, Manet as well as "Wagons of the Train" of Van Gogh. Free time in the city. Return to our hotel. Rest of the day free.
Day 3 Avignon - Carcassonne Breakfast. Today we will leave behind us this beautiful city and we ‘ll depart to Carcassonne. Arrival and we ‘ll start our tour in the castle-city of French Catalonia. A city influenced by two nations, unchanged over the years with unforgettable images and gorgeous landscapes. Our tour will start from the hill of the city, the castle with the circular double wall reinforced with countless towers and battlements. Full of life, shops, restaurants, will fill our time nicely as we browse in the beautiful alleys. Then we will walk in the new city which has the finest stained glass in France. Arrival and settlement in our hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Carcassonne - Toulouse - Carcassonne Breakfast and we ‘ll depart for the beautiful Toulouse, the fourth largest city in France after Paris, Marseille and Lyon. Located on the river GAROUNA between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean near the Pyrenees Mountains and the border with Spain. This is the largest center of satellite technology and Astronautics Industry of Europe and headquarters of the Airbus construction company. With nearly 100,000 students is the third French city with the largest student population. Free time. Back to Carcassonne. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 5 Carcassonne - Perpignan – Figueras - Barcelona Breakfast and departure for the city of Perpignan, where we ‘ll have a city tour. The current capital of the Roussillon region has reached an impressive boom in the 13th and 14th century during the royalty of kings of Mallorca. The fortified Palais de Rois, is evidence of the prosperity of the city. In the square de la Loge in Perpignan we ‘ll discover one of the finest buildings of the city the arcade Loge de mer. Where the Pyrenees reach the Mediterranean, begins the coastal route running along the rocky Cote Vermeille. After our tour in the city of Perpignan, we ‘ll reach the city of Figueras where is the museum - theater of the famous painter Salvador Dali. Experience the surreal atmosphere of his creations from the early years of his artistic activity till the last years of his life. On leaving the museum you should visit the Catholic Church of St. Paul. Admire the Gothic architecture with its arched ceilings and the simplicity of the church. We encourage you to visit among other the Jewels Museum and the Toy Museum. Transfer to Barcelona, arrival at the hotel, settlement in our rooms.
Day 6 Barcelona Breakfast and we ‘ll start our tour from the hill of Montjuic where we will enjoy the panoramic view of city and harbour. We ‘ll continue to the Olympic Village & the Olympic stadium where the Olympic Games took place in 1992. Our next stop the Guell Park, the canvas of the famous Gaudi, the valuable creation of Gaudi Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) and finally we ‘ll arrive in the Gothic Quarter, where you will have time for a walk. Our last stop is the beach of Barcelona. Back at the hotel. The afternoon is at your disposal to meet the city's nightlife. Overnight.
Day 7 Barcelona – Montserrat - Torres After breakfast we will depart for the monastery of the Benedictine monks. Through a beautiful way we ‘ll have the chance to enjoy the view of Mount MONTSERRAT. The history of the monastery begins from 880 AD, when the wooden statue of the Virgin Mary was found in a cave. Admire the Cathedral, pay attention to the endless images - statues, which bear Greek names, and let your gaze wander from an altitude of 1100 m. After our visit to the monastery, the adventurous will have time available for a ride on the train (individual costs). On our return to Barcelona we ‘ll visit the famous Torres, where we will be guided to the vineyards and get a taste of local wines in conjunction with local dishes (tapas) supplied by our office. Back in Barcelona and dinner at the restaurant La Fonda del Port Olimpic. Departure to Barcelona Airport for our return flight.
