Mount Athos one day Cruise
Pick up from your hotel and private transfer to Ormos Panayias port, in Halkidiki. We will board a pirate-style ship on a scheduled cruise, which will take us sailing along the west coast of Mount Athos. You will have the opportunity to view and take pictures of the Europe’s most unique Monk’s Republic. To this day, approximately 2000 male monks still live on this Holy Mountain and follow strict Byzantine rules and rituals. It is said that in its 1000-plus history, no woman has ever set foot on this Holy Mountain, with the exception of Mary Virgin. Early in the afternoon, our boat will reach the quaint fishing village of Ouranoupolis. Time for optional lunch to taste authentic Greek seafood, fish delicacies and wine from the Mount-Athos vineyards. Following lunch, we depart to return to your hotel
